Growing Skills offers structured one week horticulture courses at two levels, designed to build practical, work-ready skills:
Tier 1 & Tier 2 (Level 1 & 2) Certificate in Horticulture Skills
These short courses cover key topics including garden maintenance, soil testing, plant propagation, and garden machinery.Both tiers are delivered through hands-on, work-based learning, and enables learners to achieve an industry recognised accreditation.

Our courses are delivered in short, intensive blocks, which can be completed within a week, providing learners with comprehensive skill development in a structured, achievable format.
We work with your other training commitments, making it easy to integrate into existing schedules and routines. This flexible model allows multiple cohorts to participate across a season, with sufficient time between groups for recruitment, scheduling, and learner allocation. The format is designed to be adaptable and is particularly well suited to prison settings, where timetables and availability may change.

Our courses are accredited and quality assured by UKRS (UK Rural Skills). UKRS is an industry leading, nationally recognised awarding body known for upholding very high standards in land based training. This ensures your learners receive trusted, industry relevant certification backed by rigorous quality assurance.

We welcome learners from Entry Level 3 and above.
Tier 1 courses are ideal for those working at Level 1 (or Entry Level 3 who are working toward Level 1).Tier 2 courses are for learners working at Level 2 (or Level 1 who are working toward Level 2).
Both Tier 1 and Tier 2 can be delivered at the same time, so everyone in the cohort has a fair chance to complete both certificates within the week, despite potentially being at different levels.
